SHREVEPORT,TX- UST Softball team continued their strong conference play, sweeping a doubleheader against Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. With the 6-1 and 10-2 victories, the Celts improved to 6-3 overall and 5-0 in conference.

Game 1: UST 6, Centenary 1

Centenary struck first with a run in the bottom of the first inning, but the Celts responded in the third with an offensive surge. Jaelyn Simmons delivered a single to left field, scoring Delayne Moreno and Gabby Davila. Chloe Bennett followed up with ansingle, bringing in Rebecca Archibald, while Savanna Henken added another hit to push the lead to 4-1.

After a scoreless fourth inning, Simmons crushed a solo home run to center field in the fifth, making it 5-1. The Celts added an insurance run in the sixth as Gabby Davila crossed home plate, sealing the 6-1 victory.

Game 2: UST 10, Centenary 2

Both teams were held scoreless through the first two innings, but the Celts broke through in the third. Jaelyn Simmons scored on a wild pitch, and by the fifth, UST had built a 3-0 lead as Rebecca Archibald and Gabby Davila crossed the plate.

Centenary answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth, but UST's offense erupted in the sixth. Rebecca Archibald drew a bases-loaded, plating Savana Henken. Jaelyn Simmons followed up with a double to left center, allowing Archibald and Lindsey Gonzalez to score. Chloe Bennett then delivered a clutch hit, advancing to third on an error and bringing in two more runs, extending the lead to 8-1.

The Celts added two more runs in the seventh to make it 10-1 before Centenary scored one final run in the bottom half, resulting in a 10-2 final.
