
CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The University of St. Thomas (TX) softball team wrapped up its weekend in Arkansas with a 11-2 win over the University of the Ozarks on Monday, completing the series sweep. With the win, the Celts move to 20-10 overall and 16-4 in SCAC play.
After two strong wins on Sunday, the Celts stayed hot at the plate in the series finale. Rebecca Archibald got things started in the third inning, scoring on a fielder's choice by Zoe Acosta.
UST broke things open in the fourth inning, plating five runs. Delayne Moreno drove in two with a single up the middle, followed by a Samantha Crumrin two-RBI single to right. Acosta added another RBI with a groundout to short, extending the lead to 6-0.Ozarks scored twice in the bottom of the fourth, but the Celts quickly answered. In the top of the fifth, Lindsey Gonzalez launched a solo home run to left center, and Jaelyn Simmons followed with a two-RBI double. Moments later, Chloe Bennett ripped an RBI triple before Crumrin capped off the inning with an RBI groundout to make it 11-2.
