HOUSTON, TX- University of St. Thomas sophomore right-hander Victoria Sossaman has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for her dominant performances in games played from Monday, March 17, through Sunday, March 23.
Sossaman was nearly untouchable in the circle, making three appearances and posting a perfect 3-0 record to help the Celts go 6-0 on the week. She threw a complete-game shutout in UST's 6-0 win over LeTourneau on Tuesday, followed by another victory as the game one starter against Schreiner on Saturday. She then capped off an incredible week by earning her third win in relief during game two against the Mountaineers.
Across 12.2 scoreless innings, Sossaman struck out 10 batters, walked just one, and allowed only six hits, finishing with a flawless 0.00 ERA and an impressive 0.55 WHIP.
Head Coach Froebase says, "I'm so proud of Tori. She's done a great job this year and this award is very well deserved!"
With her dominant outings, Sossaman looks to carry this momentum into the Celts' next matchup as they continue their strong push through the season.
