
Softball wrapped up their inaugural season impressing many, as they posted a 20-11 record while going 15-5 in conference play. In just their first season, the Celts finished in second place and six Celts received all-conference honors. Emma Garrett, Mia Terry, and Lindsey Longuet all landed on the All-SCAC First team, Mallarie Munson earned Second Team All-SCAC honors and Ariana Brown and Shae Montemayor were Honorable Mention All-SCAC. Emma Garrett also was tabbed the SCAC Newcomer of the Year.
Mallarie Munson, a freshman from Danbury, Texas, earned the Celt Award. This honor is given by each coach to a team member based on character, integrity, sportsmanship, and work ethic. Munson led the team in home runs with four and tied for most RBIs with 31.
Brenna Ruether, a freshman from Columbus, Texas has received the Scholar Student-Athlete award. After her first year at UST, she has a cumulative 4.0 GPA. Ruether also impressed with her play, hitting .275 with three home runs while recording 25 RBIs. She hit the first grand slam in program history on March 10th at Hardin-Simmons.
