Softball Rolls Through Doubleheader Against UDallas.

Game One: UST-2  UD-0

UST Softball opened up their series with UDallas with a 2-0 victory. Lindsey Longuet picked up her ninth win of the season, tossing a two-hit shutout.

It was a quiet two innings to start the game, as no runners were able to reach scoring position for either team. It wasn't until the top of the third that the Celts would record two hits, putting runners on first and second. However, the Crusaders were able to get out of the jam, keeping the score frozen at zero.

As the Celts offense grew stagnant, Longuet continued to deal. After surrendering two hits in the first three innings, she was able to keep the Crusaders hitless for the remainder of the game.

In the fifth inning, Taylor Le's triple, followed by Shae Montemayor's RBI single would break the ice for UST's scoring. To create a two-run cushion heading into the final frame of the contest, the Celts would hang one more run on the board, in part to Mia Terry's RBI single.

Terry would lead the Celts offensively going two-for-three with two RBIs. Le would also record two hits while plating one run.

Game Two: UST-5  UD-4

After a slow offensive performance in game one, the Celts came out hot to open game two. On Shae Montemayor's first at-bat, she tripled down the right field line to thrust herself into scoring position. The very next pitch, Emma Garrett would drive her home for the first run of the game. To close out the first, Brenna Ruether would record an RBI base knock to push UST's lead to two. In the top of the second, the Celts would add to their lead, as a Mia Terry RBI single would drive in Sam Wendel.

After Zoe Jeffiers and Marissa Vasquez pitched four scoreless innings, UST would tack on one more run in the top of the sixth with Terry's third RBI of the contest.

The Crusaders wouldn't go away that easily, throwing up one run in the fifth and three more in the sixth. With a 5-4 lead in the last inning of play, Hailey Arrington was able to pick up her first save of the year, as the Celts escaped with their second victory of the day.

Emma Garrett would go three-for-four with one RBI, while scoring a run herself. Mia Terry would go one-for-two while leading the Celts in RBI's with three.
