Game One: UST-6  TU-3

It was a sacrifice fly from Brenna Ruether that would open up the Celts scoring, driving in Shae Montemayor to put the Celts up. However, Trinity wouldn't shy away, answering the run the very next inning. UST would maintain the hot hand in the bottom of the second, as Mallarie Munson would deliver with a timely RBI single.

As the contest crossed into the bottom of the fifth inning, the score was knotted up at two a piece. Emma Garrett would hit a 2 RBI double to deep center, knocking in Mia Terry and Emily Friesenhahn. Only two batters later, Ruether would tally her second RBI of the day to extend UST's lead to three.

Marissa Vasquez would come into relieve in the fourth inning and would be able to hold off the Tigers' late-game push. She would strike out three batters while only allowing two hits and one walk on the way to the Celts 6-3 victory.

Mia Terry would lead the Celts offense with three hits and one RBI. Freshman centerfielder, Emma Garrett would deliver two RBIs, going two-for-three and plating one run.  

Game Two: UST-3 TU-4

Trinity would open up game two striking first, taking an early 1-0 lead. The Celts wouldn't waste any time answering this run with an explosive three-run inning. Mallarie Munson's triple would plate two runs to take back control of the game. The very next at bat, Brenna Ruether would knock Munson in with an RBI single of her own.

The Celts' bats would stay hot, but they struggled to capitalize on runners in scoring position, stranding 10 runners throughout the game. Trinity would post two runs in the top of the fifth, which would give them the one-run advantage. UST wouldn't be able to overcome this deficit and drop the contest, 4-3.

UST Softball will be back in action next week as they travel to UDallas for a three-game series.
