
WHITNEY, TEXAS – The University of St. Thomas Men's Golf team is back on top of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), capturing the 2025 championship for the second time in three seasons. Competing at White Bluff Golf Course in Whitney, Texas, the Celts posted a three-round team score of +46, holding off the field to secure the crown.
St. Thomas opened strong with rounds of +16 and +13, then stayed composed on championship Tuesday, closing with a +17 to seal the win over second-place Trinity.
Leading the way was Antonio Ramirez, who delivered a stellar three-day performance and claimed individual medalist honors. Ramirez saved his best for last, firing an even-par final round to finish at +7 overall, securing the win by two strokes.
Teammate Cameron Curtis was right on his heels. After shooting -2 in round two, Curtis entered the final day in contention and held on to finish tied for second at +9.
The Celts got contributions from throughout the lineup, showcasing the team's depth. Marshall Hatcher tied for seventh at +14, while Landon Chau finished tied for 17th after three steady rounds. Jesus Del Aguila capped things off with his best round of the tournament—a +3 on the final day to finish tied for 29th.
This marks the second SCAC Championship for the Celts in the past three years, with their last title coming in 2023. The program continues to establish itself as a powerhouse in the conference.
With another SCAC title in hand, the Celts now set their sights on the NCAA Division III National Championship, where they'll represent the conference in New York.
