Men's golf is off to a fast start tying for second place after day one at the Schreiner Spring Shootout.
Keeping the Celts in contention is junior Patrick Smetek. Smetek finished day one in third place shooting three over at 75. Not far behind him was senior Jonathan Miller who carded a 77, to sit tied for seventh place with six other golfers.
Other notable Celt performances came from seniors Cade Kiser and Henry Phavorachit. Both are tied for 13th, scoring 78 at six over and are in position to push St. Thomas forward.
Freshman Greg Dupont currently sits at 40th, shooting 11 over par. Dupont is tied with six players, and is looking to improve his score heading into day two.
As a whole, St. Thomas is currently tied with Southwestern at +20 and just two strokes behind first place Concordia who is +18.
