Celts Battle for Top Spots at Space City Classic

HOUSTON,TX – HOUSTON – The University of St. Thomas Men's Golf team wrapped up two strong rounds at the Space City Classic, held at Gus Wortham Golf Course. Co-hosted by UST and Trinity, the Celts' "A" team sits in third place at +12, while their "B" team is in eighth at +27. With one round remaining, both squads are looking to climb the leaderboard.

Celts A Team
Leading the way for UST's top squad, Landon Chau had an outstanding first round, firing a -5 before finishing the day at -2, placing him third overall. Marshall Hatcher bounced back in round two to finish at +3, tying for eighth. Antonio Ramirez posted an even-par second round to sit at +6, while Jesus Del Aguila finished at +7. Cameron Curtis rounded out the group at +9 after improving in round two.

Celts B Team
The UST "B" team also put together a competitive showing. Lawson Fiscus led the way at +5, tying for 14th individually. Jack Mitrovich was close behind at +7, while Matthew VanHoy ended the day at +15. 

Up Next
With one round left, the Celts are within striking distance of a podium finish. The "A" team is just one stroke behind second-place LeTourneau, while the "B" team aims to close the gap on the teams ahead. UST will return to the course tomorrow, ready to make a final push at the Space City Classic.
