Tori Ramirez and the Celts Finish Season at NCAA Regional Meet

The St. Thomas (Tex.) Women's Cross Country Team participated in the NCAA West Regional Meet, facing stiff competition from all over the country in the challenging 6k race. The team collectively achieved a 19th-place finish out of 28 teams, showcasing their resilience and determination in a competitive field.

The individual performances within the St. Thomas team were commendable:

  • Tori Ramirez (SR): In her final race as a St. Thomas Celt, Tori finished 77th place setting A new personal best at 24:45.0 to lock in 77th place against 169 runners. 
  • Samantha Hernandez (SR): Samantha contributed considerably in her final race posting a time of 25:13.6 to lock in 101st place. 

  • Alejandra Ramon (FR): Alejandra, a freshman, demonstrated her potential with a time of 25:15.4.

  • Sophia Sanchez (SR): To round her her career at UST, Sanchez finished 112th and clocked in at 25:39.7.

  • Elizabeth Stepaniak (JR): Drew finished the race in 29:53.4, showing her determination and commitment to the St. Thomas squad

Despite the 19th-place team finish, the individual performances of the St. Thomas (Tex.) Women's Cross Country Team members were commendable. Their dedication and hard work in a competitive environment are a testament to their potential for future success. Fresh off a third place finish at the SCAC meet, with continued effort and teamwork, the Celts have the opportunity to achieve even better results in upcoming races. Congratulations to all the athletes for their performances at the NCAA West Regional Meet, and on a fantastic season.
