Women's Cross Country Impresses at Nory Hersey Rice Invitational

Women's Cross Country would impress at the Nory Hersey Rice Invitational in a field of nearly all Division I team. The Celts finished in seventh place, while freshman Jocelyn Olivarez would lead the way for the Celts.

 

Olivarez, who was the top finisher for St. Thomas last week at the Texas A&M Invitational, would place 34th while running a 15:08 time. Only five finishers later, Sophia Sanchez would cross the finish line, posting a 15:24 time. Martina Caridad would finish in 41st place, clocking a 15:58; while Elizabeth Stepaniak would finish in 16:42. A pack of five Celts would finish in similar fashion as Shauncy Ringo, Ashley Martinez, Grace Leduc and Abigail Garza would all record sub 18-minute times.

 

The Celts will return to action on September 24th, as they travel to Austin for the Concordia Invitational.
