Women's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at Concordia Classic

Women's Cross Country travelled to Austin, Texas to compete in the Concordia Classic. The Celts finished fifth in a field of eleven teams. Sophia Sanchez would lead the charge, placing 15th overall and second among Division III competitors.

 

Sanchez was able showcase her experience in this 6k race, posting a 24:33 time with a 6:35 mile pace. Finishing 31st overall was Ashley Martinez who clocked in at 25:58. Martinez was able to push 6:57 mile pace en route to her stellar performance. Only two finishers later, Elizabeth Stepaniak and Martina Caridad would cross the finish line simultaneously. The duo ran a 7:00 mile pace, posting a 26:07 time. Rounding out the Celts top five would be junior, Shauncy Ringo who finished 41st overall; Ringo would run a 26:46 with a 7:10 pace.

 

The Celts will compete again next weekend in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the Chile Pepper Invitational.
