Women's Cross Country Finishes Third at 2021 SCAC Championships

Women's Cross Country had a strong showing in the 2021 SCAC Championships, taking home third place for the second consecutive year. Freshman Jocelyn Olivarez would the lead the Celts, finishing 14th overall.

 

Olivarez, who has showcased her abilities all season, yet again logged a top finish for St. Thomas. She would run a 23:59 race with 6:26 mile pace. Sophia Sanchez would complete her race with a 24:17 time while finishing 17th overall. Locking in a 22nd place finish would be Martina Caridad who would post a 26:01 time. Directly after Caridad would be freshman Ashley Martinez who would run a 26:14 with a 7:02 pace. Rounding out the Celts top-five would be Elizabeth Stepaniak, finishing 27th overall with a 27:26 performance.

 

Only a few finishers later, Shauncy Ringo and Samantha Hernandez would wrap up their race. Ringo would lock in a 28th place finish with a 27:31 time, while Hernandez would place 33rd with a 28:10 performance.
