Women's Cross Country takes Fourth at SCAC Meet

Women's Cross Country concluded their SCAC meet finishing fourth place. Against the field of all SCAC Schools, the Celts finished in the top four for the third consecutive year. 

The highest Celt finish was junior Samantha Hernandez. Hernandez checked in at 40th place. Hernandez clocked 25:51:80, at a 4:19/k pace. Right behind her was freshman Hailey Perez who 25:56:50 with a 4:19/k pace. Following her was freshman Victoria Ramirez, who continued her impressive second half of the season with her time of 26:11:10 at a 4:22/k pace to round out the top three finishers for the Celts. Then senior Sophia Sanchez in her last conference race posting identical numbers to teammate Victoria Ramirez as they both finished 46th and 47th respectively. Another Freshman Ana Luna finished in the top 50 as she ran 26:31:40 and a 4:34k pace. Also competing for St. Thomas was junior Ashley Martinez. Martinez ran a 27:26:30 for the Celts at a 4:34/k pace to finish 52nd.

With team scores combined, St. Thomas finished 4th. Ahead of SCAC rivals Southwestern, Dallas, and Centenary. 

With the SCAC meet over, Women's Cross Country now shifts their focus to a national level. Catch the Celts running again at the Regional Cross Country Championships on November 12th!
