Women's Cross Country Opens up Season at Texas A&M Invitational

Women's Cross Country opened up their 2021-22 season in College Station at the Texas A&M Invitational. The Celts finished in seventh place in a field of entirely Division I teams.

 

Freshman Jocelyn Olivarez led the way for St. Thomas in her first-ever collegiate meet. She ran the 4.1K course in 16 minutes and 49 seconds, placing her 47th. Shortly after Olivarez crossed the finish line, junior Sophia Sanchez would clock in a 17:08 time. Martina Caridad would lock in a 18:09 time while fellow Celts, Ashley Martinez and Suzanna Garza would finish in 19:39 and19:55, respectively.

 

The Celts will be back in action next Friday at the Nory Hersey Rice Invitational.
