Women's Cross Country Takes Ninth at UIW XC Invitational

Women's Cross Country travelled to San Antonio, Texas to compete in the UIW XC Invitational. The Lady Celts finished ninth in a field of eleven, while Jocelyn Olivarez led the way finishing 19th overall.

 

Olivarez had the top finish for St. Thomas for the second time this season, running a 18:36 time with a 6:12 pace. Sophia Sanchez would finish next for the Celts, clocking a 19:01 time, placing her in 28th place overall. Freshman Elizabeth Stepaniak would cross this finish line in 52nd place, posting a 20:49 performance in just her third collegiate race. Rounding up St. Thomas' top-five would be Shanucy Ringo and Grace Leduc. Ringo and Leduc would finish 55th and 59th, respectively.

 

Martina Caridad and Suzanna Garcia would lock in back-to-back finishes, logging 21:30 and 21:32 times.

 

The Celts will be back in action October 16th in Rome, Georgia for the Barry Cross Country Invite.
