Celts Earn Important Point

Sequin, Texas - The University of St. Thomas men's soccer team traveled to Seguin, TX, for a tough SCAC match-up and came away with an important point. It was still warm at kick-off, but by the end, it was a cool and beautiful night for soccer. The Celts battled to a 0-0 draw with a good Texas Lutheran team that needed a home result—the Celts advance to 7-4-1 overall and 3-2-1 in SCAC action.

Texas Lutheran looked to be the more dangerous side in the first half, outshooting the Celts 4-1. But St. Thomas seized momentum during the second half and seemed like the team that would break the deadlock with a 5-3 shot advantage. Ultimately, neither team scored, and both goalkeepers went home with clean sheets.

It was a physical second half, with 6 yellow cards between the two teams.
