
In a thrilling match in Conway, AR, the St. Thomas men's soccer team faced future 2025 SCAC opponent Hendrix College. The Celts showcased their resiliency and skills, emerging victorious in a 4-2 comeback win. The victory keeps the Celts perfect at 3-0 early in the season.
Hendrix struck first with an early goal, as Jack Hamilton scored in the 10th minute. Hamilton's strike was followed quickly by another goal less than two minutes later, putting Hendrix up 2-0. Despite the early deficit, the Celts remained composed and fought back. Daniel Castro scored off a perfect assist from Ian Alvarez at the 21st-minute mark, closing the gap 2-1 and gaining much-needed momentum heading into the locker room.
In the second half, the Celts came out ready to go, continued to show their fight, and took command of the game with two goals in the 48th minute. Jeth Flores scored an equalizing goal off a terrific assist from Ian Alvarez, tying the match 2-2. Twenty-five seconds later, Deigo Lazo recorded an assist to Daniel Castro, who netted his second goal of the match, putting the Celts up for good 3-2. St. Thomas sealed the victory with a goal from Tony Castro in the 87th minute to finish the match 4-2.
