Freshman forward, Daniel Castro from Houston, Texas has been named the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Co-Player-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, October 24th.
Castro helped deliver a huge win for the Celts last Sunday scoring both goals in a 2-1 double-overtime victory against Colorado College. It marked the first SCAC loss of the year for the CC Tigers. Castro's first goal came in the 40th minute, tying the game, 1-1, going into half. Following a scoreless second half and first overtime, Castro rang home the golden goal in the 104th minute, securing three big points and vaulting St. Thomas into a tie for second on the SCAC table with one week to play in the regular season
Castro currently leads the Celts in goals with seven on the season and looks to add to this total heading into yet another pivotal weekend on conference matches.
