HOUSTON, TX The University of St. Thomas (UST) Baseball team has announced its 2025 schedule, a 37-game slate highlighted by competitive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) matchups, non-conference clashes, and a series of games at premier venues, including Rice University, Houston Christian, Sam Houston and Constellation Field.

Opening Weekend and SCAC Competition
The Celts will kick off their 2025 on Feb. 14-15 with a three-game road series against Hardin-Simmons in Abilene, Texas. Following this opening weekend, UST will continue its early road schedule with a conference series at Southwestern University (Feb. 21-23) and the reigning 2024 SCAC Champions Centenary (Feb. 28-March 1), the latter featuring a doubleheader to close out the series.

March marks the Celts' first home games, as they welcome Dallas to Sam Houston State University for a three-game series (March 7-8). UST will also host McMurry (March 21-22) at Rice University and take on Schreiner (March 28-29) at Sam Houston State University, providing fans with thrilling conference action.

Conference play will heat up as the Celts travel to Austin College (March 14-15) and later face Texas Lutheran at Constellation Field (April 4-6). UST will conclude its home schedule by hosting Trinity for a three-game set at Houston Christian University on April 18-19.

The season concludes with a pivotal road series at Concordia (April 25-26) before the Celts aim the SCAC Tournament, beginning May 2.

Returning Talent and Teamwork

Returning for the 2025 season are key contributors to the Celts' success, including junior Alex Trinh, who earned Second Team All-SCAC honors after a breakout 2024 campaign. Trinh hit .320 on the season and led the lineup from the leadoff spot, excelling in conference play with a .333 batting average. Senior ace Landon Murray will anchor the pitching staff after posting a stellar 2.92 ERA in 2024, including a complete-game shutout that earned SCAC Pitcher of the Week honors. Junior pitcher Walker Holzhausen, who boasted a 2.38 ERA in 19 appearances, will again be a reliable option out of the bullpen.

Another standout is senior Kameron Craig, who was nearly untouchable through 19.2 innings of work. Craig allowed just five earned runs while notching two wins, three saves, and 15 strikeouts, finishing with an impressive 2.29 ERA. Along with Kraig is senior first baseman Dillon McKee, who returns as a force in the lineup. McKee posted a .263 batting average with seven home runs and 27 RBIs in 2024. He played in all 21 SCAC matchups and ranks in the top 10 for home runs in conference play, solidifying his role as a key offensive contributor.

Head Coach Tory expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, saying: "We are excited to get this 2025 season underway. As a coaching staff, we believe this is the best group of talent we have had from top to bottom since being at UST. This group has meshed really well. We have quite a few freshmen and transfers who will be thrown into the fire right away, but our older guys and returners have been tremendous in helping prepare those players. Go Celts!"
