
HOUSTON,TX- University of St. Thomas men's tennis team secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over the University of Dallas in their first conference match of the season. The win moves the Celts to 1-0 in conference play. The day was also special as the team honored seniors Jason Clark, Steven Kuang, Jeremiah Hoover, and Hunter Kemball-Cook in a heartfelt Senior Day ceremony.
In doubles play, the Celts faced early challenges. Steven Kuang and Raja Pandya fell 6-4, while Jeremiah Hoover and Hunter Kemball-Cook also dropped their match 6-4. However, Pooya Tork and Wilson Salazar provided a key spark with a dominant 6-1 win.
Trailing after doubles, the Celts rallied in singles play to clinch the victory. Raja Pandya delivered the match-winning point in a hard-fought tiebreaker, winning the match with score of 6-8, 6-4, 6-3. Sawyer White earned a 6-3, 6-1 win, while Wilson Salazar (6-2, 6-4) and Michael Haranczyk (6-2, 6-1) each picked up crucial victories to complete the comeback.
