
Men's tennis won a 5-4 thriller against the University of Mary Hardin Baylor crusaders this past Saturday.
Doubles had a strong showing for the Celts, as they took two of three matches early. In line one, Juanrodrigo Lopez and Jace Ware would take a competitive 8-4 victory. Following them in line two, Carson Steele and Tyler Head would edge their Crusader opponents 8-6, putting St. Thomas up early.
Singles would feature another hot start for the Celts as they would sweep the first three lines. Juanrodrigo Lopez would drop the opening set, but would comeback to win the following two 6-1, 7-5. Next, Tyler Head would continue his stellar day winning his match 6-1, and 6-2. Finally, securing the victory for St. Thomas would be Jace Ware, who would come from behind and beat his Crusader opponent in three sets.
Men's tennis resumes SCAC play against Schreiner on March 26th at Memorial Park Tennis Center.
