Ware, Yoshikata, and Gonzalez Receive All-SCAC Honors

The SCAC revealed its All-SCAC Tennis list this Thursday afternoon. When the list was announced, Men's Tennis had Jace Ware and Rodrigo Yoshikata highlight the list in both singles and doubles. Also making the list was Anamaria Gonzalez for the women, receiving second-team All-SCAC honors. 

Jace Ware finishes his career as a Celt with a second-team All-SCAC honor. The four-year player for the Celts finishes his career with a men's program-best 36 total wins, 19 from singles and 17 in doubles. Ware's season was highlighted by SCAC play, winning four singles matches in the regular season. 

Sharing Second team All-SCAC Honors was Rodrigo Yoshikata. Yoshikata held down line one for the Celts against SCAC and non-conference foes. The graduate transfer was a force, winning five SCAC matches as a singles competitor, and a total of eight in the year. He also won eight doubles matches in conjunction with his partner. 

Together, Rodrigo Yoshikata and Jace Ware anchored a line-one Celt doubles squad that went 4-1 in SCAC play, taking wins against Schreiner, Southwestern, Texas Lutheran, and Colorado College. The duo won eight matches together and were a force to be reckoned with throughout the season. 

Also making the list for the women, was Anamaria Gonzalez. Gonzalez currently leads the program with 19 doubles and 19 singles wins. The senior showcased her skills on the court this year winning eight singles, and eight doubles matches. In SCAC play, she won four singles matches to add to her overall total. Gonzalez was also named Co- Marjorie Evans Female Student-Athlete of the Year by the St. Thomas Athletic Department.
