SEGUIN,TX- Women's Track and Field team opened the SCAC Outdoor Championships in Seguin, Texas with a great showing across the board.
In the field events, Jakayla Ray put points on the board early. She jumped a personal best of 5.05 meters to place 6th in the long jump, then followed that with a 5th-place finish in the triple jump at 10.71 meters.
On the track, Alejandra Ramon made history in the 10,000 meters, setting a new school record with a time of 40:09.23 to finish 6th overall.
Several Lady Celts also advanced to the finals after strong performances in the prelims:

In the 400 meters, Selest Edwards qualified 3rd (59.50), Christina Stinson 7th (1:00.71), and Grace Pearson 8th (1:00.92).

In the 100 meters, Trinity Provost led all qualifiers finishing 1st (12.01), followed by Quadetra Wilburn (3rd - 12.15), Ny'Cierra Hinton (5th - 12.23), and Kaela Sawyers (6th - 12.29).

In the 200 meters, the Lady Celts continued to dominate: Trinity Provost 1st (25.08), Kaela Sawyers 2nd (25.16), Quadetra Wilburn 5th (25.35), Nya Hinton 7th (25.83), and Aniyah Johnson 8th (26.30).

In the 400m hurdles, Lexie Allred Rojas also advanced, finishing 7th (1:08.50).
The Lady Celts look to build on this momentum as they head into the final day of competition.
