Celts Push Forward at FastTrak Challenge

HOUSTON,TX- UST women's track and field team competed in their second indoor meet of the season at the FastTrak Invite Challenge, held at Yeomen Fieldhouse in Houston. The Celts showcased strong performances, with multiple personal bests and a top-10 relay finish.

Freshman Quadetra Wilburn highlighted the day with a personal best of 8.06 seconds in the 60m dash, coming just 0.06 seconds shy of the school record. In the 400m, Selest Edwards also notched a personal best, clocking 1:02.57 to place 23rd overall and 3rd among all Division III competitors.

Trinity Provost continued her stellar season by equaling her own school record in the 200m with a time of 25.69, finishing 10th overall. Her mark currently ranks 42nd nationally. In distance events, senior Samantha Hernandez delivered a strong performance in the 3000m, crossing the line in 11:28.52, the second-best time in program history.

The meet concluded with the Lady Celts finishing 9th in the 4x400m relay, posting a time of 4:05.49. This team consisted of Makayla Powell, Christina Stintson, Selest Edwards, and Trinity Provost.

Head coach Jarrick Wright praised the team's efforts, saying, "The team performed well in all event groups. It's good seeing improvements this early in the indoor season. I'm excited to see the team build off this momentum in the next few weeks back at this facility."
