
BATON ROUGE,LA- UST women's track and field team made a strong statement at the Pelican Relays in Baton Rouge, highlighted by school records and impressive finishes across the board.
The 4x100m relay squad placed 8th overall, running 47.75 in a competitive heat. In the sprints, Ny'Cierra Hinton made program history by becoming the first Celt woman to break 12 seconds in the 100m, setting a new school record at 11.98 and placing 15th overall.
In the 800m, Elizabeth Stepaniak and Elyssa Rodarte finished 7th and 8th, respectively, with times of 2:28.74 and 2:29.20. Rodarte's performance marked a season best.
The distance crew capped the day with strong efforts in the 3000m. Alejandra Ramon broke the school record, finishing 3rd in 11:04.75, while Samantha Hernandez took 5th place in 11:29.57.
