HOUSTON, TX- UST Women's Track & Field team delivered a strong showing at the FasTrak Invite, highlighted by school records and standout performances across multiple events.
Samantha Hernandez set a new program record in the mile, crossing the finish line in 5:32.02 to place 15th overall. Trinity Provost made history in the 60m dash, breaking the school record with a blistering 7.88, making her the first Lady Celt to dip under the 8-second mark. Teammates Kaela Sawyers and Quadetra Wilburn followed closely, both clocking 8.03, while Nya Hinton matched her personal best of 8.17.
In the 200m, Sawyers (26.28), Wilburn (26.91), and Hinton (27.00) each delivered their fastest times of the year. The momentum carried into the 400m, where Makayla Powell continued to improve, lowering her time to 1:00.81 for a 15th-place finish. Emorie Proctor also posted a new career-best mark, crossing the line in 1:06.17.
"Stellar performance from the men and women today. It was a great opportunity to compete against conference opponents, and the team handled the challenge very well," said Head Coach Jarrick Wright.
