The University of St. Thomas Men's Tennis team picked up their first victory of the year on Sunday with their Conference matchup against Austin College.
Race Haas and Tyler Head would continue their strong outings with a 8-1 victory in line two of doubles. Dorian Cudina and Carson Steele also delivered for the Celts in doubles as they claimed an 8-2 win over the Roos.
UST was too much in singles as they nearly swept the board handedly. Jace Ware defeated Tate Nelson 6-1, 6-0 as he earned his first victory of the season. Likewise, Cudina would handle business in a convincing fashion, winning his match 6-0, 6-2. In line one of singles, Juanrodrigo Lopez dropped a heartbreaking contest. Having to weather a deficit he was able to force the game into a tiebreaker where he would drop the match 12-10.
Men's Tennis looks to continue in their winning ways next Saturday in Seguin as they travel to Texas Lutheran for yet another SCAC bout.
