Jasso Leads Six Women's Soccer All-SCAC Awardees

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference has released the 2023-24 all-SCAC teams for Women's Soccer, and the Celts made their presence known with six players receiving honors.

Junior Bryanna Jasso received second team all-SCAC honors for her performance this season, helping anchor the Celts' defensive unit that allowed less than a goal per game for the year. She also displayed resilience as the only Celts field player to start all 13 of the team's matches.

The Celts also featured four athletes receiving honorable mentions: Alexa Ramirez, Astrid Mencia, Emma Cerda, and Kylie Soich. Ramirez tied for the team lead with two goals, including the game-winner against Schreiner for the Celts' first conference win of the season. Mencia provided strong all-around support from the middle of the field, recording an assist and chipping in strong defensive play throughout the season. Cerda, receiving an honorable mention for the second consecutive season, tied for the Celts' lead with two goals of her own and five points. Soich held down the fort in goal for the Celts, starting all 13 matches and surrendering only 10 goals against 38 saves for the season.

Last but not least, freshman Hope Billington cracked the all-SCAC freshman team for the Celts. Billington chipped in all over the field, stacking up a goal, two assists, and four points for the Celts in a solid freshman season for the Celts.
