Women's Soccer drew with Schreiner in Sunday's conference contest. The Celt defense held firm throughout the match, stopping a plethora of shots from the Mountaineers.
Offensively, St. Thomas struggled to get anything on the scoreboard. Taking only eight shots across 90 minutes, only two of them landed on goal, and the Schreiner goalkeeper was able to save both of them. Defensively, the Celts allowed 19 shots, and none of them converted.
St. Thomas also showed grit the entire match, committing 11 fouls against Schreiner's three. In addition to five corner kicks, the Mountaineers had plenty of chances but were unable to score to break the tie. This led to a draw between both teams.
Sadie Penney held strong in goal for the Celts recording 10 saves, in her first start of the season. Up next, the Celts will continue conference play against Southwestern.
