HOUSTON - The University of St. Thomas Women's Volleyball team is set to take the court for the 2025 season under the direction of 11th-year Head Coach Keanne Burt. After making program history last year by advancing to the SCAC Semifinals for the first time, the Celts are focused on continuing that momentum.
The 2025 slate features 28 total matches and two scrimmages as the Celts prepare for another competitive year. UST will also host three tournaments, giving fans plenty of opportunities to catch the team in action at home.
The season begins with the UST Opening Weekend Tournament. The Celts will face Adrian College on Friday, August 29, at 2:30 PM, followed by a primetime matchup against Mary Hardin-Baylor at 7 PM. Tournament play continues the next day as UST takes on Alverno College and Hardin-Simmons University. From there, the Celts head to Montgomery, Alabama, for a tournament before returning home to host the First Responders Tournament on September 12-13.
Following non-conference play, UST opens its SCAC schedule with three straight road matches against Concordia Texas and Texas Lutheran University on September 19-20. The Celts will then travel to Colorado to acclimate to the altitude and take on the always competitive Colorado College Tigers.
UST's first home SCAC matches arrive during the conference crossover weekend. The Celts will host the University of Dallas on October 3, Hendrix College on October 4, and Austin College on October 5. Conference play continues with more home contests against McMurry, Schreiner, and Colorado College on October 9, 12, and 18.
The team will hit the road again for a non-conference match at East Texas Baptist University on October 23 before entering another SCAC crossover hosted by LeTourneau University. During that crossover weekend, UST faces Ozarks on October 24 and closes out the event with a doubleheader on October 25 against LeTourneau (SCAC newcomer) and Centenary College. From there, the Celts will wrap up their regular season on the road as they prepare for the SCAC Conference Tournament.
Leadership and Talent
The 2025 squad features a strong mix of returning talent and new faces. UST welcomes several transfers and freshmen, many of whom joined the program early during spring 2024 to gain experience at the collegiate level.
The Celts will once again be led by returning All-SCAC honorees Audrey Cataline and Alexis Bodunrin. These two upperclassmen bring experience and composure, serving as key contributors to UST's historic 2024 run. Known for their versatility, impacting matches through kills, digs, and blocks, they will play a major role in guiding the team through the 2025 season.
