The Jerabeck Activity and Athletic Center was rocking for Senior Night as the Celts made quick work of Huston-Tillotson.
For their final home game of the 2021 season, St. Thomas did not disappoint, throttling the Rams. They would jump out to an early lead in the opening set and never look back, taking the advantage after a 25-16 decision.
However, Huston-Tillotson would respond with a 8-1 run to open up the second set. This lead wouldn't last long as St. Thomas would battle back to even things at the midway point. The Celts would secure the victory after a 13-2 run would close the door on the Rams.
With a sweep within reach, the Celts would race out to a lead in the final set and never surrender it for the remainder of play.
Alyssa Ajlouny would lead the Celts' offense with 11 kills on 24 swings. She would also record the double-double, tallying a game-high 15 digs. Logging 13 assists would be Senior Kelsie Walker in her final match at The JAAC. Sophomore Middle Blocker, Laynee Beam, would fill up the stat sheet, recording four kills, six digs, three blocks and three service aces.
St. Thomas will compete in their second SCAC Tournament this weekend. The six-seeded Celts will face off with the three-seeded Southwestern Pirates in the quarterfinals on Friday at 6:00PM
