
Volleyball dropped the opening match of their doubleheader to East Texas Baptist University. The Celts would fall in straight sets to the Tigers.
A slow start would haunt the Celts as they quickly found themselves down after dropping the opening set, 25-14. However, they would bounce back in the next set, battling the Tigers until the very end. Unfortunately, back-to-back Tiger kills would give them the set, 26-24. With their backs against the wall, St. Thomas would drop a closely-contested final set. After trading blows with ETBU for the entire game, the Tigers would edge the Celts 25-23.
Trinity Atkins would lead the Celts offensively with nine kills while hitting a .238. Atkins would also record four digs
St. Thomas will return to the court at 7:00PM as they head to Letourneau for a stand-alone match.
