Game One: UST-0 TU-3
The Celts opened up set one of their doubleheader hot, jumping out to a 7-2 lead. However, Trinity would construct a run of their own and storm back to take the lead. The number two team in the nation would hang onto this lead and run away with the set, 25-13. The following two set would be all Trinity, but UST wouldn't go away that easy. In both the last two sets they challenged the Tigers till the very end.
Alyssa Ajlouny would lead the Celts offensively with seven kills of her own. Kelsie Walker would dish out a team-high 12 assists while Kaylyn Latin led UST in digs, recording 21.
Game Two: UST-0 TU-3
UST would open up the backend of the series battling Trinity for the majority of the first set. An Alyssa Ajlouny kill would give the Celts the 7-6 advantage early, but the Tigers wouldn't shy away from the competition, regaining this lead and even extending it to nine points. The Celts wouldn't be able tame Trinity's momentum and would drop the set, 25-19. This momentum wouldn't end there, as the Celts would find themselves trailing the Tigers for nearly the entire second set. On their last leg in the final set, UST would have to fight uphill in order to force a fourth set. After finishing the game on a 10-2 run, the Celts brought the game to within two, but the Tigers would soon ice the game and secure the 3-0 victory.
Alaina Lanik would flirt with another triple double, posting six kills, nine assists and nine digs.
UST Volleyball will have a quick turnaround as they host Austin College next Thursday at 12:00 & 4:00.
