Game One: UST-2 UDallas-3
The Celts didn't have the start they imagined, trailing UDallas early in the first set. After multiple crusader runs, UST was never able to recover and would drop set one, 25-19. That set would be the wakeup the Celts needed as they jumped on UDallas to take their hope away. A Kaylyn Latin service ace was ice set two, 25-20. However, the Crusaders wouldn't go away that easy and would storm back to snatch the Celts' momentum. They would raddle off eight-straight points to take the advantage on UST in set three. With their backs against the wall, UST had to answer UDallas' energy. A hard-fought fourth set would come down to the wire as both teams traded blows. As the score was knotted up at 23, kills by Alaina Lanik and Lauren Arthur would keep the Celts alive as they took set four, 25-23.
The Celts were unable to halt a Crusader run as they fell in the deciding fifth set, 15-9
Kayltn Latin had a game-high 31 digs to go along with her four assists. Kelsie Walker dished out 25 assists while Lauren Arthur and Alyssa Ajlouny both recorded 10 kills each.
Game Two: UST-3 UDallas-1
The start of the second game mirrored that of the first. The Celts yet again found themselves having to fight uphill as UDallas stole set one, 25-23. The next set, UST constructed a 10-3 lead to open up. They would step on the gas pedal to cruise to a 25-18 victory to tie things up at one a piece. In a huge third set, the Celts would be able to weather a Crusader storm to take the 2-1 advantage. In the deciding fourth set, UST would post 12 kills on their way to clinch the match with a 25-21 vicotry.
Alaina Lank shined recording her first triple double. She had 22 kills, hitting a .345, dished out 11 assists and recorded 14 digs to earn the Celts the split. Kaylyn Latin yet again led the contest in digs with 29.
UST Volleyball will return to The JAAC, March 20th when they battle Southwestern
