HOUSTON,TX- The St. Thomas women's tennis team started its spring season with an impressive performance, securing a dominant 5-2 win over LeTourneau at home.
The Celts swept doubles play to set the tone for the match. Lucia Rodriguez and Ella Mullins claimed a 6-2 victory, while Aimee Tran and Nataly Velasco matched that result with a 6-2 win of their own. Hannah Snyder and Adrianna Iturralde completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 victory.
In singles competition, UST continued to shine. Lucia Rodriguez led the charge with a 6-4, 6-4 win, while Adriana Iturralde battled to a 7-5, 6-4 victory. Hannah Snyder delivered a strong performance, winning 6-3, 6-2. Aimee Tran showed resilience in a three-set thriller, taking the match 7-5, 3-6, 10-5 in the tiebreaker.
Despite competitive efforts, Ella Mullins fell 6-1, 7-5, and Nataly Velasco dropped both her matches 6-4.
