The University of St. Thomas Women's Tennis team returned home tired but mostly pleased after competing in the ITA regional tournament hosted by Trinity University in San Antonio from September 19 to 21. The ITAs provide an opportunity for individuals to showcase their talent against the best in the Region.

Three Celts were entered in the singles Championship Draw: (Fr.) Alina Vishnia, (Jr.) Ella Mullins, and (So.) Nataly Velasco. Vishnia faired best and won her opening round match against Schriener's MacKenzie Griffin,6-3, 6-4. Vishnia faced eventual Semifinal qualifier Olivia Hill of Trinity and lost in the second round. Mullins and Velasco both dropped their opening-round matches. Mullins took advantage of her second chance in the Consolation bracket and advanced to the Quarterfinals. It took another Trinity Tiger and the eventual Consolation Champion, Allison Vo, to oust Mullins 6-4,6-0. Unfortunately, Velasco also fell to Trinity's Vo in the Consolation Bracket, only in the second round.

In the singles Draw B for St. Thomas, Aimee Tran won the opening match 4-7 against Howard Payne University. Tran went on to advance to the next round but could not find a rhythm, falling to opponent from Hardin Baylor.

In the Women's Singles Draw D, St. Thomas' Caroline Wells fought through three rounds to reach the finals. In the finals match, Wells fell to Kendra Werlein from Howard Payne University. Hannah Snyder's also faced Werlein in the same draw.

In the Doubles Draw, St. Thomas had two duos compete. Aimee Tran and Nataly Velasco dropped in their opening round match against a team from Southwestern. Meanwhile, Ella Mullins and Alina Vishnia advanced two rounds before falling in the quarterfinals to a Trinity duo.

The ITA Regionals marked the Celts' final competition for the Fall season and will immediately focus on preparing for the Spring.
