5 Celts Make USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Region List

NEW ORLEANS – All-Region honors for the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Friday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season.

Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.

When going through the list, one would find 5 St. Thomas Celts making the cut. 2 Men and 3 Women.

Matthew Hicks was the first Celt on the list for High Jump. Hicks impressed this season winning the SCAC Championship after clearing a height of 1.97m, then followed it up with a school record at the Trinity Last Chance Meet of 2.02m. He was also named SCAC Field Athlete of the Week Twice this season. 

Bryce McIntyre also made the list for his 400m performance. McIntyre was named SCAC Track Athlete of the Week Twice this Year and grabbed the school record in the 400 after breaking 48 with a time of 47.89. 

Sophia Delgado also made the list for her 400m Hurdles times. Delgado had a breakout season taking second at the SCAC meet with a time of 1:03.31, and grabbing the school record in the process. 

Trinity Provost made the list for her time in the 200m posting a school and career best time of 24.81 at the SFA Karl Knight Invitational. She then followed up with her second SCAC title in the event logging a 25.04. 

Lastly, freshman Peyton Walton grabbed the last spot for the Celts in the 100m Hurdles after her stellar first year. Walton won the SCAC title in the 100m hurdles after posting 14.95, then followed it up with a school record 14.80 at the Trinity Last Chance Meet.
