Men’s Swimming Competes at Southwestern in Conference Meet

Men's Swimming traveled to Southwestern on Friday for their final conference meet of the fall semester. The team continued to build on their season, posting competitive times and improving on past results.

Charles Wallace won all three of his events, including posting his best time in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.02). He also secured the top spots in the 100-yard backstroke and 50-yard butterfly in a strong individual outing. Oscar Mayorga claimed a win of his own with the top spot in the 1000-yard freestyle. Lucas Blado took second in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard individual medley. Josiah Mendez anchored the 200-yard medley relay team and posted competitive times in all three of his events as well.

Head coach Hanna Huston spoke highly of the team's performance following the event. "Charles and Oscar led the team today with some great in-season racing. Now, we look forward to finishing the semester strong academically and preparing for our training and competition when we are in Florida coming up in January," Huston said.

With the fall season over for Men's Swimming, they turn their attention to the spring schedule. Their next scheduled meet is on January 6 in Florida. Follow ustcelts.com for future results and updates.
