Celts Set Two School Records

GARLAND, TX – The University of St. Thomas Swimming teams made a strong statement on the opening day of the SCAC Swimming & Diving Championships, setting two school records in the 200-yard medley relays.

The women's 200-yard medley relay team of Kelsy Elgar, Ava Verret, Valentina Garcia-Lara, and Emely Lopez delivered a historic performance, breaking the program record with a time of 1:59.69, finishing eighth overall. On the men's side, Lucas Blado, Austin Brister, Charles Wallace, and TaylorLee Goebel also etched their names into the record books, posting a new school-best time of 1:38.76 for a sixth-place finish.

Head Coach Hanna Huston was pleased with the team's opening performance, stating, "It was a solid start to the meet—tonight should give the team confidence that they are ready to go and that the work they put in is going to show."
