Men's Cross Country traveled to South Carolina for the Upstate Invitational. Against a field of all Division One programs, St. Thomas impressed for a 7th-place finish out of 13 teams.
Leading the Celts was sophomore runner Jhancarlos Carpio who clocked in at 21st place. With his time of 25:48 in the 8k, Carpio topped all DIII competitors and jumped many division one participants. Then in 31st place, James Urbina ran 26:06. Urbina kept a great pace at the event, with less than 2 seconds separating him from a top-30 finish. Rounding out the top three finishers for St. Thomas Micah Hampton came 63rd with a time of 27:13. The freshman was able to showcase his skills and contribute to the Celt's overall team score to put them near ahead of six division one programs.
