Celt Swimming Competes at Day 1 of SCAC Championships

The University of Saint Thomas Swim Team dove into their first race at the SCAC Championships this Wednesday evening. The women were the only team to compete today, racing in the Championship final of the 200 Yard Medley Relay.

The team, composed of Kelsy Elgar, Ava Verret, Emely Lopez, and Allyson Pantin, displayed remarkable coordination and determination throughout the race.

Kelsy Elgar, leading off, set the pace with a strong performance, clocking in at 29.74 seconds for the opening 50 yards. She handed over to Ava Verret, who maintained the momentum. Verret's split time of 1:03.01 was the time at the halfway mark.

Emely Lopez positioned the team for a thrilling finish setting up the team's anchor, Allyson Pantin to close out the race.

With a final time of 2:01.46, the Saint Thomas Celts finished in 8th place.

Up next, Men's Swimming joins the mix as both Celt teams will compete tomorrow at the SCAC Championships. Follow ustcelts.com for all scores and updates.
