Celts Conclude Their Season at SCAC Championships

GARLAND,TX  St. Thomas swim team capped off their season with a memorable performance at the SCAC Swimming & Diving Championships, with standout results on the final day of competition.

Oscar Mayorga led the way for the Celts, making the A Final in the 200 Butterfly and finishing 7th overall. His strong showing made him the top scorer on the men's side. Ava Verret also had a remarkable meet, setting lifetime bests in both the 400 IM and 200 Breaststroke to become the top scorer on the women's side.

Additional strong performances came from Charles Wallace and Valentina Garcia in the 100 Freestyle, Lucas Blado in the 200 Backstroke, and Austin Brister in the 200 Breaststroke, each showcasing their dedication and skill.

Head Coach Hanna Huston expressed her pride in the team's efforts: "Overall, I am incredibly proud of the team's performance this week and throughout the entire season. They exceeded my expectations despite some hiccups. It's been great to see them grow, support each other, and constantly strive for excellence both in and out of the pool."

As the SCAC Championships come to a close, the team reflects on a season filled with hard-earned progress and valuable lessons. Looking ahead to next year, the Celts are focused on the growth they've experienced and the opportunities to build on this foundation.
