UST Men's Soccer Falls to OKC

Oklahoma City, OK. – The UST Men's soccer team fell to the OKC Stars 4-1 on Thursday morning. The game started with good chances for both sides until the Stars took advantage scoring in the 26th minute.

The first half ended 1-0 with the Celts registering seven total shots and the Stars 9, causing the keepers to record four saves apiece. The Stars started strong in the second half scoring in the 51st minute. The Celts continued their efforts, but 74th and 75th-minute goals by the Stars would get in the way. Despite the scoreline, the Celts showed tremendous pride maintaining to push forward, outshooting the Stars 15 to 11. Their effort finally paid off in the 88th minute as sophomore Jacob Evans (SO/Chester, United Kingdom) squared the ball across the 6-yard box for a diving Maxwell Lockhart (SO/Toronto, Canada) to finish.

The Celts look to bounce back next week in the conference opener as they travel to the University of Houston Victoria on Saturday, September 22nd.
