
Estacada, OR.- The University of St. Thomas women's cross-country team closed their season with determination, competing in the NCAA Regional Championship in Estacada, Oregon. Facing a competitive field that included teams like Lewis & Clark, UC Santa Cruz, Cal Lutheran, and SCAC rivals Colorado College, Trinity, and Southwestern, the Celts demonstrated resilience and growth throughout the meet.
The Celts finished 25th with a score of 660, rounding out a day filled with fierce competition. While the placement may not have been where the team had hoped, their effort and commitment on the challenging course highlighted the promise and potential for future success.
Sophomore Alejandra Ramon led the way for St. Thomas, placing 101st with a time of 24:11.9. Senior Samantha Hernandez followed closely, crossing the finish line in 121st with a time of 24:43.4. Senior Elizabeth Stefaniak delivered a personal best performance, completing the race in 25:16.8 . Sophomore Gizelle Gonzalez and Kianna Stamps rounded out the top five scorers for the Celts.
This meet marks the conclusion of the Celts' cross-country season, with the team showing steady improvement and setting a foundation for the future. With underclassmen stepping up and seniors leaving their mark, the Celts are poised to continue growing and competing at a high level in the seasons to come.
