Kendra (Chambers) Coleman is a long time Texas native and in high school she won the Texas UIL State Championship in the 400-meter dash. She went on to attend college at the University of Texas at Austin, where she was an 8x AllAmerican and a 4x Big 12 Champion. After college, Kendra pursued a professional track career, training in cities like Philadelphia, Austin and San Antonio, Texas.
As a pro 400 and 800 -meter athlete, she qualified for the U.S. National Championships almost every year from 2015-2024 and was a semi-finalist in the 800 meters at both the 2016 and the 2024 U.S. Olympics Trials. She was a part of Team USA in the 2016 World Indoor Championships and the 2017 World Relays. Kendra has traveled and competed all over the world running in countries like Hungary, France, Italy, Bermuda, Ireland, Jamaica and the United Kingdom.
Academically, she received her undergraduate degree in Corporate Communications and has her Masters of Education degree in Sports Management. She has been a high school coach for cross country and track and field and is a strong advocate for women in sports. She’s worked as a volunteer track and field coach at the University of Texas at Austin, Prairie View A&M University and most recently at Texas A&M University. She is also heavily involved with her community and works with Athletes for Hope. Kendra sits as an officer on the USATF Athletes Commission as the Director of Athlete Services. She currently resides in Houston, Texas with her husband.
