
Houston, TX – Out of 396 NCAA Division III programs, the University of St. Thomas Softball team has secured its place among the nation's elite, finishing the 2025 season ranked No. 22 in the NFCA/GoRout Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The Celts finsished with a 34-12 overall record, winning the SCAC Conference Tournament and earning their second trip to the NCAA Regionals in the past 3 years. UST stunned power Texas Lutheran twice during the postseason, eliminating the Bulldogs and advancing to the national stage.
In Regionals, the Celts went head-to-head with No. 1 East Texas Baptist, pushing the top team in the country to the brink before falling by just one run. It was a game that showcased UST's fight, composure, and belief that they belong on the national radar.
"We finally got recognized! Number 22 in the nation!" said Head Coach Angela Froboese "I'm proud of how hard this team worked all year."
The ranking is determined by head coaches representing all 10 NCAA Division III regions. With nearly 400 teams in contention, finishing inside the Top 25 marks a monumental achievement for the program. From a conference title to a fierce regional showing and now a national ranking, the 2025 Celts showed their grit and determination.
