Women's Cross Country Finishes Eighth at Berry College Invitational

Women's Cross Country travelled to the peach state for the Berry College Invitational in Rome, Georgia. The Lady Celts took home eighth place and were led by freshman Jocelyn Olivarez.

 

Olivarez would record her first collegiate top-ten finish while running an impressive 24 minute and four second 6K race. Sophia Sanchez would cross the finish line next for the Celts in 23rd place, while running a 24:49. A minute later, Martina Caridad would finish 46th overall, logging a 25:48 performance. Rounding out the Celts top-five would be Ashley Martinez (26:18) and Abi Garza (26:33). Martinez and Garza would finish 57th and 63rd respectively.

 

Elizabeth Stepaniak and Shauncy Ringo would also compete for St. Thomas, running 26:58 and 27:31 times respectively.

 

The Celts will return to action in San Antonio, Texas for the SCAC Championships, October 30th.
