The UST Women's Tennis team picked up its first win of the season Sunday with their convincing win over Austin College.
It was great day to be a Celt as they nearly swept the visiting Roos. Anamaria Gonzalez and Alejandra Lopez kicked things off in line one of doubles defeating Francis and Shapard 8-4. Karissa Guzman and Asan Atilla followed their lead and also secured an 8-4 victory in doubles. To complete the sweep, Alyssa Davila and Jenny Reynolds took care of business defeating the Roos 8-5
After the wins started flowing in, UST was eager for more. Gonzalez, Lopez, Davila and Reynolds all had comfortable victories over Austin College. Jenny Reynolds would claim her first collegiate victory today defeating Madelin Hiler 6-3, 6-1. Asan Atilla helped the Celts grab their first win by taking her 3 set thriller 3-6,6-2, and 11-9.
The Celts advance to 1-2 for the season and look to build on this win next weekend when they travel to Seguin to battle Texas Lutheran University.
