Gabe Salako, junior striker from Lagos, Nigeria, has been named the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, March 21st.
Salako was involved in three of the Celts' four goals last weekend as St. Thomas earned six crucial points in the league standings. On Wednesday, St. Thomas defeated Schreiner 3-0 and then handed Centenary its first confer- ence loss of the season, 1-0, on Saturday. Against the Mountaineers, Salako was credited with an assist on the second goal and scored the third. Then against the Gents, he assisted on the lone goal of the match, giving him four point on the week with a goal and two assists.
"Earning this honor feels great" Salako said. "I couldn't have gotten this without my teammates and coaching staff."
